A Song without Tune

Too lost in time to think of the day,
Tomorrow’s child has arrived today;
Rays of hope lighting the way,
for barefoot child of dreams a-sway.

Slipping into the distance
of inconsequential time,
Wading through the memories
of old forgotten rhymes.

eat and drink and forget that day
the light of lights went out the door,
Ne’er again to bring back your way
that bouyant summer breeze you wore.

Slipping into the distance
of inconsequential time,
Wading through the memories
of old forgotten rhymes.
